Growing up in the 80-90's was a blast! I thought so anyway , there was a lot of things I enjoyed about growing up, I just enjoyed being a kid. Of course I enjoy being an adult and doing the grown up things such as being a wife and a mother, but like they say when you are young you always want to grow up and then when you are grown up you want to be a kid again. I know you can't go back but it's fun to remember when..... I have included a few clips of my favorite tv shows growing up and that's not all of them but it's a few. I liked alot of shows growing up when i was in elementary it was alf, brady bunch, mr. ed, punky brewster, charles in charge, strawberry shortcake, pound puppies, facts of life, little house on the prairie, dukes of hazzard and blossom. But when i got to middle school it kinda changed, i started lliking 90210, saved by the bell, dawsons creek, party of five, and fresh prince of bel air. Which I still watch a few of them when they are on tv. But those days are gone and we had to grow up but here is a few of the clips I hope you enjoy and you might remmber some of them Enjoy!
Life and all that brings
When you stop for a moment in your busy day and take the time to hear from God it's truly amazing. Sometimes we get so caught up in LIFE that we really aren't hearing what God has to say. Not because He doesn't speak or want to speak to us we are just not listening!
And seriously how can we hear Him speak when we have the TV on 24/7, phone ringing, someone knocking on the door, kids screaming, radio playing, dishwasher going, washer and dryer running and the list goes on. But we wonder why we can't hear God speak, and it just might be that we are too distracted with everyday life that we are not hearing because we aren't really listening. And we sadly miss out on what God is saying to us, and what would happen if we took the time to listen.
As a mom of two boys i feel I'm always on the go. Whether it be taking one to football practices, games, doing homework with them, school activities, cleaning up their messes, breaking up their fights with each other. And sometimes even as a parent I'm so busy with the duty of the job instead of enjoying the benefits of being a mom. Taking the time to listen to what our child has to say and not rushing them along because we've got dinner to make, baths to be given or whatever else you need to do. Being a mom is more important that just doing those things which are all important in their own timing. But it's truly listening to our children and taking in those precious moments that come and go so quickly, that mean the most.
Because when they get older they aren't going to remember those things that WE thought were so important, but they will remember the time you took to listen and really show you care about them.
It makes me think that when we arent' listening to our child with an atentive ear when they come in so excited to tell us about their day or what they did or even somthing that is bothering them, and we brush them off pretending to listen it hurts them because they really wanted our undivided attention. And it makes me think how many times do we do that to God? When He is talking to us and we arent' listening to Him with our undivided attention. He is so excited to tell us something but we are so distracted with everything else that we fail to take the time to truly hear what He's saying to us.
Don't get distracted with life that you miss out on what God is saying to you because it's a very precious moment that you don't want to miss out on just like your chldren talking to you don't take it forgranted and listen with an attentive hear!

Air Show
Saturday we took the boys to the Terre Haute Air Show. They really enjoyed seeing the different planes and looking at all the different things that they had out. It was a very beautiful day for it not hot at all sky was very blue and not cloudy. It was a great day!
This is a picture of the airplane holding an American Flag. God Bless America!
Heres one of the airplanes doing some things up in the sky, the boys really liked looking at this

This is a picture of Kolton looking in the sky at one of the airplanes he really liked it except for the loud noise that followed the planes

This was an old helicopter, it was really neat how it took off really fast and it could go up 12 thousand feet in the air in a matter of minutes. The boys liked it when it flew sideways and back and forth it was fun watching

Even though I'm not into the plane thing, the boys are and well Jimmy too. So that is all that maatters they loved it and I went along for the great food! Of course we had to have some great food while we were there all day long! We had a funnel cake, taco in a bag, potato wedged fries, and satti bobis( I don't know how to spell it) But we had a great day spending time with the family and I'm sure we will be back next year!
Heres the boys taking a picture with their daddy they are really having a great time !
Well we aren't sure what Kristofer really wants to be when he grows up he is always surprising us with the things he comes up with, but Saturday he was going to be a pilot and fly and airplane so that is what he did!

Grants Farm
After a great nights sleep in the hotel in St. Louis on Sunday we took a trip to Grants Farm before we headed back to Terre Haute. It was fun looking at all the different animals, we went on a train ride to see the wild animals that they had, it was really cool. Then we went to the petting zoo inside the farm.
There we got to feed the goats the milk bottles which the boys really liked that, and we fed the camels, and just looked at the other animals.
Here is a picture of Kolton feeding the goat, I was very shocked that he did it but he loved it! He kept taking the bottle out of one goats mouth and putting it in the other one, at least he's using his sharing habits even with the animals!
Kristofer feeding the goats he liked it but not as well as his brother
Then we went to see the Clydesdale horses they had a special barn for them it was really neat. This is one of them leaning over what a beautiful animal!
And of course Kolton reallyliked these too, he loved petting them
And giving them hugs he tried to kiss it but that didnt work out so well!
But over all Grants Farm was fun, it wasn't crowded or hot either so that made it really nice, the boys really liked it so that is what matters

Then before we left for the day we saw this huge turtle, I thought it was pretty cool so I took a picture of it to share!

SIx Flags
This Labor Day weekend we decided to take a trip to St. Louis and go to Six Flags. It was a long drive I know it's on 3 hours but with small kids, it seems like forever. But despite the long drive it was alot of fun, relaxing and it was nice to spend time together with the family. We took my nephew Blake along with us, because we had to have someone to ride the rides with! So he took turns with Jimmy and I. And of course along with every trip there is pictures so heres some of what we did that day!
This is the crew with Tweety!
Blake, Kristofer and I on the scrambler
The boys with Scooby Doo
Kristofer and Blake with Bugs

Of course it wouldn't have been any fun for the boys if they didn't
get their picture taken with WONDER WOMAN! Look at those

Kolton really didn't like this ride he got kinda scared when it
went up and back down but he did surive
This is Jimmy and Blake waving on the Ninja Roller coaster
This is Jimmy and blake on the Batman rollercoaster,
you really can't see them because they are upside down,
hanging with their feet dangling in the air, but thats what they like
so let them have their fun, I would've been on there too, if I didn't get
a headache.
But overall it was a great day, not that hot outside. After the park closed we went across the street to our hotel and had a good night's sleep and then I'll show you what we did the next day on the next blog.

Koltons 4th Birthday
Kolton is growing up really fast, on August 22nd he turned 4 years old! Time really has gone by fast. Heres some pictures of him getting home from school on his big day!
